Logansport High School

“Capable leadership is a necessity if we are to win the war and the peace…to meet the demands of a nation at war, we must be healthy in body and mind...and we have learned that for the things we hold dear, we must be ready to sacrifice our time, effort, money – even our lives if need be.”

The Logansport Tattler of 1944 took the Indiana high school’s initials as an acronym for the class motto: Leadership, Health, Sacrifice. ‘No student could remain unaware of the war,’ wrote the yearbook’s editors and, as such, emphasized the contributions the student body was making to the war effort and, also, as an organizing theme for the yearbook itself. If you took your school or your own initials as a motto, what would it be?
